Meet Dr. Kareem

Dr. Kareem Moffett is a proud native of Cincinnati and a passionate advocate for public education.

She is a proud mom of three CPS graduates from Withrow High School and a grandmother of three current CPS students as well. She is currently serving on the Cincinnati Public School Board, where she is honored to lead as the 2025 Board President. With a deep commitment to educational equity and community empowerment, Dr. Moffett is running for re-election to continue serving students, families, and educators across the district.

Dr. Moffett’s professional background spans education, science, and nonprofit leadership. She has taught math and science in CPS classrooms and taught college-level mathematics within Higher Education at Cincinnati State. She began her career as a chemist and went on to serve as Director of Diversity Programs and Services and an academic advisor. As a nonprofit leader and consultant, she has helped build strategies that connect families, communities, and schools.

Throughout her service on the Board, Dr. Moffett has prioritized:

  • Equity in education for all students, regardless of background or ZIP code

  • Community and parental engagement to strengthen trust and collaboration

  • High academic standards through increased access to rigorous coursework

  • Safe, supportive learning environments

  • Fiscal transparency and accountability

She has also worked to establish public-private partnerships to help counter state funding cuts and support whole-child learning.

Dr. Moffett believes every student deserves a high-quality education—and that this is only possible when communities are informed, engaged, and empowered. With your support, she will continue to be a strong voice for students and families on the Cincinnati School Board.

A graduate of the University of Cincinnati, Dr. Moffett holds degrees in Chemical Engineering Technology (AAS), Natural Sciences (BS), a Master of Arts in Remedial Education in Higher Education, and a Ph.D. in Education. Her doctoral research focused on Educating Urban African American Students. She also earned a Certificate in Education Finance from Georgetown University, underscoring her commitment to fiscal responsibility and smart school budgeting.
